| Welcome……
I feel that there is a touch of Spring so let's hope
that this edition of Advantage
Gower heralds the start of a bright holiday season.
We've had plenty going on at Clyne Farm and this weekend host
nearly 100 young people on a Frontier training weekend and a
youth club visit from Bristol. Our Photo
Gallery has lots of new pictures including Specsavers optician Steve
Jones' surprise fortieth birthday party. |
Valentine Greetings from
the stables and Clyne horses! |
Our attractions
page has proved highly popular and by the Spring we will have more
information from our partner companies to make our website the
information hub for what to do in Swansea and Gower.
We welcome feedback
about Advantage Gower so that we can provide
just the right amount of information to encourage visitors to come to
the area and stay longer once they have arrived.

Horses
and Valentine Cards
Clyne Farm Centre is believed to
have the first website offering Valentine's Day cards for horses and
ponies!. The bizarre move came as a suggestion from one of our regular
riders and has taken off in a big way with stable manager Chris involved
in a photocall with shire cross Ginny.
If you want to send a card to your
favourite mare (careful!) or forgotten to send one to your hubby log
onto our electronic postcard
page complete with a romantic piece of background music
Full details of our hacks, lessons and Adopt a Pony Days are on our web
site as well as pictures of the horses and staff.
Computers
I attended a training day for the
Wales Tourist Board Destination Management System (DMS) this week. It
promises to be a comprehensive one stop system for bookings throughout
Wales - if everyone can get their heads around it!
Dump of the
Week
I was reminded
this week about the Mumbles traffic warden who was seen booking a German
tourist who was parked on a double yellow line slap bang in the middle
of twenty local cars sporting orange disabled stickers but decided that
the Boob of the Week must go to the British Tourist Authority who
forgot to include Gower in their overseas marketing package.
Having had
somewhat similar treatment at their offices in Buenos Aires a few years
ago I'm not surprised - Note to Assembly Members - isn't
it time that overseas marketing of Wales came from closer to home?
Gong
of the Week
Castallemare
Restaurant for continue to promote the area with good promotions and
attractions to give visitors a good time throughout the year.
| Did
you know? Challenge Valley has
had a winter facelift designed to allow spectators to watch and
not get their feet quite so muddy! Lots of pictures in our Photo
Gallery |
|
Why
not?
-
Take a walk
from Southgate to Three Cliffs Bay - hardly a soul at this time of
year and probably the best views in the country. Return via Pennard
Castle and the footpath alongside the golf course.
-
Book
the children in for an activity day
- drop the children off and takle the old man shopping -
he needs new socks!
THE BIG POSTCARD
Our latest offering is The BIG
Postcard site. Not that it's very big at present but we aim to expand it
into a site where you can send pictures by e mail of almost everything
in Swansea and Gower. Forgotten to send a Christmas card? Why not send a
BIG Postcard
NOW!
